Application from Individuals

The Trustees assist individuals in two ways, firstly through direct scholarships to a number of Schools and secondly by awarding grants to individuals who apply directly. Individual awards can be used to help with paying fees or for living expenses but no assistance is given for the purchase of equipment, private lessons or travel outside of the UK.

The Schools currently in receipt of Scholarship Awards are listed in Appendix I; if you are going to attend one of the Schools on this list, the Trustees cannot accept a direct application from you and you must approach the School to find out whether you would be eligible to apply.

If your School is not on the list, applications will be considered from individuals who can answer “yes” to the following statements/comply with the following criteria:

  • Fine & Applied Arts   Course to be connected with the Fine & Applied Arts to include Fine Art, Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Jewellery and Metalwork, Music, Drama and Dance (excluding Film).
  • undergraduate or postgraduate   Course to be of undergraduate or postgraduate level (not research degrees or foundation courses)
  • accredited school or university   Course to be full-time at an accredited school or university in the UK (see Appendix II)
  • age   Minimum age 18 years old
  • Preference given to those looking for funding for third year of undergraduate course or for postgraduate study
  • Preference given to those who have mainly been educated in the UK

It is advisable that individuals telephone the Clerk for up-to-date information.
